I can't believe that I have a kindergartner! She has been so excited to start school. We made a chain to count down the days. Every day brought greater excitement. We went to back to school night last Thursday and, after it was over, she sat outside her classroom for about 15 minutes while I talked to a friend. I then sat down next to her and we stayed for a little while longer. When I said it was time to go home she said she didn't want to leave. I asked her how long she wanted to stay and she said "till Tuesday." I thought it was so cute! You have to know that in a few years she won't feel the same way. She got some "magic confetti from her teacher to put by her bed the night before school started so that she wouldn't be afraid and she would be able to sleep well. It had a really cute poem attached to it. Last night when we were getting ready for bed she went and got it. She said that she wanted to make sure she could sleep. This morning she woke up even earlier than usual she was just so excited! So we did her hair and painted her nails and had fun getting ready for the first day of school.

All ready for school.

She had to have a picture with her favorite teddy.

She loves this backpack. Notice the pocket on the strap. When we found it she said "Mom this pocket will be perfect for my lip gloss" Hopefully she doesn't figure out what that pocket is really for for a really long time :) She had two different lip glosses in that pocket to take with her to school today.

On our way!

playing on the play ground waiting for the bell to ring.

In line getting ready to go into school. Our cute neighbor Lili is in her class- Kena was excited that she would already have a friend. They played on the play ground together and got in line together.

Through the window- she looks so cute! I asked Kena if she was going to cry and she of course said no. I asked her what she would do if I cried and she said that it would make her sad. I got close a couple times, but I was grateful to have a friend there that I could just keep talking to. I am very proud to say that I did not cry!
