Fireball

Tonight was the PTA's fundraiser. Kena has been talking about it for weeks. If we didn't go it would have been the end of the world. They sent stuff home almost every day and then on the day of the event Kena came home with a sticker reminding us... like Kena would have let me forget. They had door prizes for the first 90 students. It started at 6 and we got there at about 5:45.
This was the line when we got there.

By 6 when the started letting people in this was the line behind us. I guess this is what happens when they offer door prizes.

They had popcorn and so Jack was in heaven. This is what he did the whole time.

The girls got their faces painted.

They had fun playing games...

and winning prizes.

Kate was so excited because she learned how to spin a top all by herself.

There were so many people there and it was SO hot. We were done with everything so we were going to go home, but the main event was still to come... the unveiling of the mascot FIREBALL. When we told Kena it was time to go home she was really disappointed so Adam took Kate and Jack home and Kena and I stayed.

Kena and her friend Lili.

She is so weird :) I love it!

Waiting to see Fireball.

It was so cute. They turned out all the lights and had two people with huge flashlights waiving them around and a fog machine. They really went all out for the unveiling. Fireball was so fun he came out and did a dance to the school song. The kids were so excited.

Of course we couldn't leave without having our picture taken with Fireball. These are Kena's cousins who go to the same school. I'm glad we went- Kena had such a great time.

What should Jack be for Halloween?

We love Halloween! It is always so exciting when the stores start to put out the decorations. It always takes us a little while longer to shop cause we have to look at everything, every time. The Kids favorites are the "scaries" as Jack calls them (the things that make noises and move.) We had fun at the store a few days ago. I had my camera so we just kept trying things on and Jack loved it!
This one was Jack's favorite. He didn't want to take it off. If I can find a cute cape he might just be Batman for Halloween.

Labor Day

For Labor Day we went to the park and had a picnic.
The kids really had a lot of fun.

All of the kids love the swings...
Don't know what the tongue is all about :)

Kate is starting to learn how to "pump" on the swing.

How could you ever get mad at this face?

Kate loved this bridge she just kept running back and forth.

Jack found this twisty thing and loved it! He just wanted to keep spinning.
It started making me dizzy.

Kena liked looking for things through the spy glass.

Beautiful Kate

I thought this was SO funny when Jack came down the slide like this!
He did start out facing forward and this is how he came out at the bottom.

I love these little monkeys! They truly are the light of my life.

First tooth

Kena's tooth has been loose for a couple of weeks now and she has just been working at it. Saturday night it was time for it to come out. With Adam and I both being rookies at the pulling of teeth we didn't quite know what to do. I am a dork and have always wanted to try tying it to the door knob and slamming the door. (I was very disappointed to learn that it doesn't work) We finally got Kena to agree to let us pull it out and after a few trys and a lot of tears...

You can't really see it, but the tooth is in the bag.

She was so excited the next day to learn that the tooth fairy came! She watched a show about the tooth fairy that said that the tooth fairy turns your tooth into magic dream dust. She couldn't wait to tell all of her friends at church and school. I can't believe how big she is getting. Time goes by way to fast.

Kindergarten Here We Come

I can't believe that I have a kindergartner! She has been so excited to start school. We made a chain to count down the days. Every day brought greater excitement. We went to back to school night last Thursday and, after it was over, she sat outside her classroom for about 15 minutes while I talked to a friend. I then sat down next to her and we stayed for a little while longer. When I said it was time to go home she said she didn't want to leave. I asked her how long she wanted to stay and she said "till Tuesday." I thought it was so cute! You have to know that in a few years she won't feel the same way. She got some "magic confetti from her teacher to put by her bed the night before school started so that she wouldn't be afraid and she would be able to sleep well. It had a really cute poem attached to it. Last night when we were getting ready for bed she went and got it. She said that she wanted to make sure she could sleep. This morning she woke up even earlier than usual she was just so excited! So we did her hair and painted her nails and had fun getting ready for the first day of school.

All ready for school.

She had to have a picture with her favorite teddy.

She loves this backpack. Notice the pocket on the strap. When we found it she said "Mom this pocket will be perfect for my lip gloss" Hopefully she doesn't figure out what that pocket is really for for a really long time :) She had two different lip glosses in that pocket to take with her to school today.

On our way!

playing on the play ground waiting for the bell to ring.

In line getting ready to go into school. Our cute neighbor Lili is in her class- Kena was excited that she would already have a friend. They played on the play ground together and got in line together.

Through the window- she looks so cute! I asked Kena if she was going to cry and she of course said no. I asked her what she would do if I cried and she said that it would make her sad. I got close a couple times, but I was grateful to have a friend there that I could just keep talking to. I am very proud to say that I did not cry!

Dinos

Kena, Kate and Jack love the dinosaur museum so for FHE this week we decided to go.

The three cutest kids you will ever see!

Jack loves the cave

This is what Jack does when he says "Sceery" (scary) He walked around most of the time with his hands on his tummy. Man I love that kid!

The sand...

This is the kids favorite part- so of course this is where we spend most of the time.

The Count Down Begins!!!

My Sweet Little Sister Kari has been serving in the
Washington D.C. North Spanish Speaking Mission
This picture was taken last year at the MTC. Before Kari left we were living with my parents. Kari and Kena became best friends.

Almost everyday Kena asks me how much longer until Karebears comes home. So I decided that for FHE this week we would make a chain.

We had such a great time. We went to Robert's and Kena and Kate got to pick out the fun paper.

When I asked the girls where they wanted to put it- of course they said they wanted it in their room.
